Weekend Roundup: Week 2 full of offense, Royals post first shutout of 2019-20 regular season

Week 2 of the CPJHL season yielded some high-scoring games as well as defensive struggles.


Langton Royals 4, Muskoka Anglers 1

Payton McCallum scored twice for the Royals, who got a 26-save outing in net from goaltender Trevor Slaven (pictured) at the Graeme Murray Arena. Toby Beliveau added two assists in the win for Langton.

Seaforth Generals 5, Scarborough Wexford Raiders 3

From the Scarborough Gardens, Owen Haiek posted two goals and two assists for Seaforth, while Raul Barbo made 39 saves in goal. Raiders goalie Cam Handson finished with 69 saves.

Maniwaki Mustangs 5, Smiths Falls Settlers 3

Jeremy Brooks recorded a goal and two assists to lead the Maniwaki offense from the Gino Odjick Centre. Tommy Bouchard turned aside 31 shots to get the win between the pipes. Malcolm Gamelin registered a goal and a pair of helpers for the Settlers.


Maniwaki Mustangs 9, Smiths Falls Settlers 2

From the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre, Olivier Plouffe paced the Mustangs attack with a goal and three assists, while Philippe Beaudoin and Yannick Brindamour each tallied twice with an assist. In net, Logan Hensley made 20 saves for Maniwaki.

Langton Royals 4, Scarborough Wexford Raiders 0

Trevor Slaven stopped all 24 shots he faced to pick up the victory in net at the Langton Arena. Toby Beliveau went for two goals and an assist and Gaberik Dorion chipped in a pair of assists for the Royals.

Le Becard de Senneterre 15, Ferne Neuve le Buffalo 4

At the Centre Sportif Ben Leduc, Jordan Riviere collected three goals and four assists and Pier-Luc Bellard added three scores and a pair of helpers for Le Becard. Alexandre Beaulieu and Alec Boutin tallied a goal and three assists each. 


Seaforth Generals 8, Muskoka Anglers 1

Owen Haiek potted three goals and Siinasi Tasse-Dion added five assists in the win at the Seaforth Community Centre. Raul Barbo kicked out 22 shots and Jared Searles scored two with an assist.

Le Becard de Senneterre 25, Ferne Neuve le Buffalo 0

From the Centre Sportif André Dubé, every Senneterre player recorded at least one point and goaltender Antoine Chouinard earned the shutout with a 21-save performance.
