WEEKEND ROUNDUP: Severn, Maniwaki each nab two wins, while Seaforth, Senneterre also get victories

Six games were played last weekend as the CPJHL season nears the midway point of the 2019-20 season.


Seaforth Generals 5, Muskoka Anglers 0

From the Graeme Murray Arena, Raul Barbo stopped all 30 shots for the shutout. Donald Kuptana scored three goals and Owen Haiek and Ethan Scrimgeour (pictured) each posted a goal and an assist. For the Anglers, Turham Ramsey made 38 saves in goal.

Severn Stallions 12, Scarborough Wexford Raiders 5

Jared Weatherbee tallied twice and added three assists, Gage Polhill notched a goal and four assists and Liam Coleman recorded two goals and two assists in the win at the Scarborough Gardens. Scott Knowles chipped in two goals and an assist, while Austin Gilmore went for a goal and two assists. Dylan Beattie and Jeremy Fortin added a goal and an assist each and Jacob Ljungstrom and Christopher Champagne each tacked on two assists. Joshua Jones and Caleb Boylan scored single goals for the Stallions, who got a 52-save performance from David Barrett. For the Raiders, Davis Park scored a pair of goals and Jarra Shifara, Kevin Shirmaly and Wilfred Robinson added singles to go along with two assists from Brandon Weeks. Wexford goalie Graham Payne finished with 52 saves.

Maniwaki Mustangs 7, Le Becard de Senneterre 6

At the Centre Gino-Odjick, Yannick Brindamour's goal with 6:02 left in the third period stood as the game winner. Jeremy Pontbriand registered three goals and two assists, while Phillippe Beaudoin added five assists and Jeremy Brooks and Brindamour each had a goal plus a helper. Felix Dargis and Niels Colliot scored as well as Cedrick Robidoux made 34 saves between the pipes. Vincent Roy scored two goals and added an assist for Le Becard, while Jordan Riviere notched a goal and two assists to go along with single goals from Jessy Dalibert, Isaiah Cooper and Maxime Lemaire. Felix Larange picked up two assists and goaltender Antoine Chouinard stopped 40 shots.


Le Becard de Senneterre 5, Smiths Falls Settlers 3

From the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre, five different players scored - Alec Boutin (with two assists), Jordan Riviere (with an assist), Frederic Baril (with an assist), Mirko Bolduc and Felix Larange - and Gianni Schiappa-Godard turned aside 19 shots in goal. For the Settlers, Dylan Henri and Zach Phillion each had a goal and an assist, Askar Kagirov added two assists and Andraz Homan also scored. Ethan Messner made 45 saves in the Smiths Falls net.

Severn Stallions 12, Muskoka Anglers 1

At the Coldwater Community Center, Ethan James made 28 saves for the Stallions, while Christopher Champagne recorded a goal and five assists, Austin Gilmore a goal and four assists, Liam Coleman three goals and a helper, Joshua Jones and Dyan Beattie two goals and an assist each and Jared Weatherbee four assists. Scott Knowles added three assists, Caleb Boylan a goal and an assist, Carson Latimer two assists and Theron Iron Opekopew and Mac Young one goal apiece. Robin Ruklic scored Muskoka's lone goal and goalies Ethan Thomas and Sahil Sandhu combined to make 55 saves.

Maniwaki Mustangs 13, Le Buffalo de Ferme Neuve 3

Jeremy Pontbriand led the offense with five goals and four assists and Yannick Brindamour matched the nine points with three goals and six assists at the Centre Gino-Odjick. Phillippe Beaudoin added three goals and an assist and Antoine Bertrand and Temuri Vedyapin scored one each. Jeremy Brooks and Gabriel Briere posted two assists apiece and Logan Hensley and Elie Giguere made a combined 34 saves in goal. Le Buffalo's John-Evan Moar had two goals, Dany Boisclair the other, and Nicolas Robert and Zak Flamand combined on a 44-save outing in the Ferme Neuve crease.
