WEEKEND ROUNDUP: Royals, Mustangs each win twice; Stallions, Raiders, Becard, Generals also get Ws

Eight games were played last weekend in CPJHL action.

Here is a rundown of all eight contests:


Severn Stallions 6, Muskoka Anglers 2

From the Graeme Murray Arena, Liam Coleman went for two goals and an assist, Jared Weatherbee a goal and two assists and Dylan Beattie three assists for the Stallions. Theron Iron Opekopew, Caleb Boylan and Kevin Logan scored once each, Mac Young added two assists and Cameron Paton finished with 33 saves in goal. For the Anglers, Robin Ruklic had a goal and an assist, Isaac Smith one goal and Paul Shager and Sahil Sandhu combined on a 56-save effort in goal for Muskoka.

Langton Royals 4, Scarborough Wexford Raiders 3 (OT)

At the Scarborough Gardens, Olivier Beaulieu netted the winner with 3:24 to play in overtime. Felix Mailhot scored twice and added an assist, while Filip Mica scored and Trevor Slaven made 53 saves in goal. Kevin Shirmaly posted a goal and an assist for the Raiders, Jarra Shifara and Evan Speiran added single goals, Brandon Jang two assists and Cam Hanson stopped 88 shots in net for the win between the pipes.

Maniwaki Mustangs 11, Smiths Falls Settlers 6

Yannick Brindamour registered three goals and five assists, Phillippe Beaudoin four goals and an assist and Gabriel Briere a goal and four assists from the Centre Gino-Odjick. Jeremy Pontbriand added two goals and an assist, Antoine Bertrand one goal, Thomas Tremblay three assists and Jeremy Brooks two assists to back Cedrick Robidoux's 33-save outing in goal. For the Settlers, Dylan Henri recorded two goals and two assists, Askar Kagirov a goal and three assists and Connor Hewitt a pair of assists. Nolan Poucachiche Wawatie, Zach Phillion and Marcus Decoursay scored solos and Ethan Messner and Jonatan Horne combined to stop 53 shots.


Scarborough Wexford Raiders 7, Severn Stallions 3

From the Coldwater Community Center, Kevin Shirmaly potted two goals and added a pair of assists, Wilfred Robinson added a goal and three helpers and Jarra Shifara and Dalton McGinnis scored one each with an assist. Brandon Jang and Josh Bishop netted one each and Graham Payne made 46 saves after Sean Quinn allowed three goals on three shots. The Stallions' offense was led by Austin Gilmore, who had a goal and an assist. Caleb Boylan and Scott Knowles scored one each and David Barrett made 52 saves in goal.

Le Becard de Senneterre 6, Smiths Falls Settlers 3

At the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre, Vincent Roy had a hat trick, Felix Lagrange posted two goals and two assists and Benoit Cousineau-Marcoux tacked on three assists. Andy Mapachee added two helpers and Jordan Riviere scored to back Gianni Schiappa-Godard's 17 saves in goal. Askar Kagirov netted two goals for the Settlers, while Marcus Decoursay had a goal and an assist and goalie Jonatan Horne turned aside 50 shots.

Maniwaki Mustangs 16, Le Becard de Senneterre 3

Jeremy Pontbriand exploded for seven goals and two assists, Yannick Brindamour added two goals and six assists and Phillippe Beaudoin chipped in with a goal and six assists from the Centre Sportif Ben Leduc. Niels Colliot went for two goals and two assists, Jeremy Brooks a goal and three assists and Sheldon Dube Ottawa a goal plus a helper. Alexandre Gougeon tacked on two assists and Temuri Vedyapin and Gabriel Briere scored as Logan Hensley stopped 22 shots in goal. For Senneterre, Jeremy Petiquay, Leo Lachaine and John-Evan Moar scored and Nicolas Robert and Zack Flamand combined on a 23-save performance between the pipes.


Seaforth Generals 8, Scarborough Wexford Raiders 4

From the Seaforth Community Centre, Owen Haiek tallied three goals and two assists, while Ethan Scrimgeour went for two goals and an assist and Luke Steen notched a goal and a pair of assists. Travis Sloan and Donand Kuptana scored one each, Siinasi Tasse-Dion pitched in two assists and Max Hetman totaled 29 saves in goal. For Scarborough, Kevin Shirmaly scored once with an assist and Evan Speiran, Wilfred Robinson and Brandon Weeks netted goals as Cam Hanson stopped 47 shots in net.            

Langton Royals 9, Muskoka Anglers 2

Felix Mailhot posted two goals and two assists in front of the home crowd at Langton Arena. Olivier Beaulieu and Ismael Prudent added a goal and two assists each and Juliusz Kowalski and Filip Mica chipped in a goal plus a helper apiece. Lennon Thomas tallied two assists, Tyler Bird, Payton McCallum and Jonas Benjamin also scored and Hayden Linklater kicked out 11 shots in goal. For Muskoka, Sammy Spencer and Josh Bozek scored and Turham Ramsey and Ethan Thomas combined to make 45 saves in goal.
