WEEKEND ROUNDUP: Maniwaki posts pair of victories; Settlers, Becard, Stallions, Generals also win

Six games dotted Week 5 of the 2019-20 CPJHL schedule.


Smiths Falls Settlers 8, Muskoka Anglers

From the Graeme Murray Arena, Askar Kagirov and Malcolm Gamelin each posted two goals and two assists for the Settlers, while Dylan Henri added two goals and an assist to back Jonatan Horne's 51 saves in goal. Paul Shager made 49 saves for Muskoka.

Maniwaki Mustangs 19, Ferme-Neuve Le Buffalo 4

Jeremy Pontbriand and Yannick Brindamour each went for three goals and three assists and Philippe Beaudoin added two goals and four assists for the Mustangs in a game played at Centre Gino-Odjick. All Maniwaki skaters except for one recorded at least one point in the game. Tommy Bouchard stopped 29 shots between the pipes. For Fefme-Neuve, John-Evan Moar scored twice, Guillaume Dube and Jake Ratt each had a goal and an assist and Nicolas Robert and Zak Flamond combined to make 40 saves.

NOTE: The Le Becard de Senneterre-Scarborough Wexford Raiders game was declared a 1-0 forfeit win for Scarborough when the Becard bus broke down on the way to Scarborough.


Le Becard de Senneterre 6, Severn Stallions 5

Alexandre Beaulieu contributed a goal and three assists for Senneterre, Jordan Riviere three assists and Maxime Lemaire two goals and an assist in the victory at the Coldwater Community Center. Antoine Chouinard made 24 stops in net. For the Stallions, Jared Weatherbee and Austin Gilmore each had a goal and two assists, Dylan Beattie a pair of goals and Ethan James stopped 31 shots in goal.

Maniwaki Mustangs 6, Smiths Falls Settlers 3

Yannick Brindamour recorded a goal and three helpers and Jeremy Pontbriand chipped in a goal and two assists for Maniwaki. In goal, Logan Hensley fashioned a 24-save performance at the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre. Malcolm Gamelin scored twice for Smiths Falls and Felix Leonard added a goal and an assist. Ethan Messner turned aside 38 shots between the pipes.


Severn Stallions 11, Langton Royals 4

At the Langton Arena, Jared Weatherbee went for four goals and three assists, Liam Coleman three goals and four assists and Cameron Paton kicked out 25 shots in goal. For the Royals, Jonathon Galke and Ismael Prudent registered a goal and two assists each. In net, Trevor Slaven and Hayden Linklatr combined on a 26-save outing.

Seaforth Generals 7, Scarborough Wexford Raiders 4

Owen Haiek potted three goals and Donald Kuptana tallied a goal and three assists for ths Generals on home ice at the Seaforth Community Centre. Siinasi Tasse-Dion scored twice and Luke Steen posted three assists as Raul Barbo finished with 29 saves. Brandon Weeks recorded a pair of goals for the Raiders and netminder T.J. Ramsey made 41 saves.
