WEEKEND ROUNDUP: Despite inclement weather, Settlers, Becard, Generals all pick up crucial victories

As inclement weather postponed two games last Friday, three games were played as scheduled as the CPJHL enters the final few weeks of the 2019-20 regular season.

Here are the highlights from each game:


Smiths Falls Settlers 10, Le Buffalo de Ferme Neuve 2

From the Centre Sportif Ben Leduc, Dylan Henri led the Settlers with six goals and three assists, while Askar Kagirov added two goals and two assists. Riley Botham and Andraz Homan each posted a goal and an assist and Jonatan Horne finished with 20 saves in goal. For Le Buffalo, Jimmy Flamand and John-Evan Moar scored and Zak Flamand tallied 44 saves between the pipes.

Le Becard de Senneterre 8, Maniwaki Mustangs 1

At the Centre Sportif Andre Dube, Vincent Roy went for two goals and four assists, Alexandre Beaulieu had a goal and two assists, Jordan Riviere two goals, and Pier-Luc Bellard and Maxime Lemaire posted a goal and a helper apiece. Sean Fink also scored, while Antoine Chouinard made 12 stops in net. Yannick Brindamour scored the lone Maniwaki goal and Cedrick Robidoux turned aside 61 shots in goal.


Seaforth Generals 3, Langton Royals 2 (OT)

From the Langton Arena, Owen Haiek netted the game-winner at 2:02 of the extra session to lift the Generals. Haiek also had an assist for a two-point game. Cedric Beck and Dylan Ross-Kendi added the other goals, Travis Sloan picked up two assists, and goaltender Max Hetman finished with 30 saves. Carson Favel and Malcom Gamelin scored for the Royals and Trevor Slaven put together a 33-save performance between the pipes.
