Weekend Recap - Hawks, Stallions Split Weekend Games

The Grey Highland Hawks and the Essa Stallions split a pair of crucial games in the Western Division. The Hawks took the first game at home by a score of 4-2, but lost the next night in Essa 2-1. The Hawks rebounded for their three games in three nights by beating the Seaforth Generals 8-0. The Hawks now only trail the Muskoka Wild by one point in the West even though Muskoka has four games in hand.

In the East, the only game played was a 9-3 victory for the Glengarry Highlanders over the Norwood Nemesis. The Almonte Sharpshooters continue to lead the East as they have a six point lead over the Highlanders and they also have four games in hand.

Felix Stephen of the Glengarry Highlanders leads the league with 2.31 points per game, as well as a league leading seven power play goals. Stephen Eccles of the Essa Stallions has been the best “go to guy” as he leads the CPJHL with four game winning goals.

Brian Tempel from the Grey Highland Hawks boast the best saves percentage at .931 and also leads the league with nine wins.
