It was an exciting weekend for the Grey Highland Hawks as they were able to go on the road to the East Division and take a 3-0 victory in Glengarry against the Highlanders and then won a tight one the next night in Almonte 3-2 over the Sharpshooters. The Muskoka Wild also had a perfect weekend with a home win against the visiting Seaforth Generals 6-4 and then going into Glengarry the following night and coming away with a 4-1 verdict.
Things still remain tight in the West with the Wild, Stallions and Hawks all within of three points of each other even though the Wild have six games in hand. The Sharpshooters have separated themselves from the rest of the field in the East, but it will be a dog fight for second as the Highlanders are up on the O-Town Rebels by six points, but the Rebels have seven games in hand.
Teams will continue to strengthen their rosters until February 1 when the league rosters will be frozen for the season. With all the positive publicity the league has received from their Showcase in Sault. Ste Marie, Michigan and the WSHL Western Shootout in Las Vegas, the CPJHL is becoming a league players want to come to. Very impressive start for the CPJHL and special praise should go out to each ownership group for all their hard work.
