The Essa Stallions have announced the re-signing of forward Jared Weatherbee for the 2018-19 CPJHL season.

Weatherbee, a 6-foot, 178-pound native of Truro, N.S., rejoins the defending President's Cup champions for what is expected to be another strong season.

"Jared is a very solid 200-foot player for us," said Essa head coach and director of hockey operations Sylvain Cloutier. "Having him come back, with what he brings to this team, is a huge success for us as a club. He's going to get a lot of ice, and play in all sorts of different situations. We're really happy to have him back."

"I'm really looking forward to being back and taking another run at another ring," added Weatherbee.

Stallions assistant coach and GM David Lang also chimed in on Weatherbee.

"Jared is a leader for us," Lang said. "He may not be the most vocal guy out there, but he leads by example. He has great touch around the net, great hockey sense, and is physical. All of those attributes that he possesses make him coachable and dependable - something we value and preach here in Essa."

In 45 games last season, Weatherbee notched 32 goals and 31 assists for 63 points and 36 penalty minutes.
