Stallions return Taiwan native, defensive stalwart Pan to lineup for '18-19 season

The Essa Stallions have announced the re-signing of defenseman Jerry Pan for the 2018-19 season.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound product of Taiwan returns to the herd after an impressive rookie season where he compiled 14 points in 45 games during the Stallions' President's Cup run last season.

"'Panner' is a solid contributor for us," said Essa head coach and director of hockey operations Sylvain Cloutier. "It may not show up in the point category every night, but he has become one of our best first-pass defenders, can rush the puck, and has been known to make some forecheckers look foolish a time or two per game with his elusiveness."

"I've had the privilege of coaching Jerry on the defensive side of the bench, and I'm looking forward to having him again this season," added Essa GM and assistant coach David Lang. "When he shows up to play, he is quite often the best defenseman on the ice. He is going to be heavily depended upon this season as we're looking to repeat as Presidents Cup champions. We can't wait to have him back."

During the offseasons, Pan can be found representing his country in the IIHF World Championships.
