Stallions re-sign 'remarkable' Swedish defenseman Ljungstrom for 2018-19 CPJHL campaign

The Essa Stallions and defenseman Jakob Ljungstrom have come to an agreement on a contract extension through the 2018-19 season.

Ljungstrom was acquired last season in a deal from Sweden at the deadline.

"Jakob was very green when it came to the North American game," said Essa GM David Lang. "Smaller surfaces, more contact, not as much time to react to things. Considering the situations we threw him into, he was remarkable."

"He is starting to get the hang of things over here in North America," added Stallions head coach and director of hockey operations Sylvain Cloutier. "One more season under his belt, and he should be able to go to the next level. We just need him to use that heavy shot of his more often."

In 13 games, Ljungstrom tallied two goals and four assists for six points.
