Stallions' Holmstrom, Eagles' Miller, Ice Wolves' Betham capture monthly CPJHL honors

The Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League today announced its Forward, Defenseman and Goaltender of the Month awards for February.


FORWARD OF THE MONTH

Tim Holmstrom, Essa Stallions

Holmstrom averaged better than two points per game last month in totaling 20 points (12 goals, eight assists) in nine games. He had seven multi-point games, including three four-point performances.

A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Holmstrom finished second in Essa scoring during the regular season with 48 goals and 29 assists for 77 points. His 48 goals were good for third overall in the CPJHL as the Stallions captured the CPJHL regular-season championship.


DEFENSEMAN OF THE MONTH 

Tyler Miller, Lake Erie Eagles

In 17 games last month, Miller averaged a point per game with five goals and 12 points for 17 points with the Eagles.

Overall, Miller tallied 10 goals and 34 points in 37 games with Lake Erie during the regular season.


GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH 

Ty Betham, Coldwater Ice Wolves

Bethan fashioned a 3-2 mark in February, with one regulation loss coming in a 6-3 defeat to the Grey Highlands Hawks on Feb. 3 and another coming in a 5-4 overtime loss against the Bracebridge Pioneers on Feb. 17.

The 19-year-old Balcarres, Saskatchewan, product is 14-5 this year with a 3.63 goals-against average, a .887 save percentage and one shutout.

His 14 wins finished third in the CPJHL.
