Stallions graduate Hunt inks pro contract with Svegs IK for 2018-19 season

Former Essa Stallions standout Chris Hunt has signed his first pro contract and will be heading to Sweden to lace up the skates for Svegs IK.

"Chris was a very important player for us last season," said Essa head coach and director of hockey operations Sylvain Cloutier. "He works hard and has a heavy shot, which will immediately be noticed at the next level. Obviously with him moving on, it leaves a big hole here for us, but that should motivate the others to step up and welcome the challenge.

"We're going to miss him, but we wish nothing but the best in life on and off the ice."

In 42 games with the Stallions last season, Hunt amassed 55 goals and 41 assists for 96 points and 56 penalty minutes.
