The Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League has announced the two coaches that will be behind the bench in December when the CPJHL takes two teams to participate in the annual Western States Shootout showcase event in Las Vegas.

Essa Stallions coach-GM Sylvain Cloutier will coach one team, while Madawaska Valley Falcons coach-GM Norm Maracle will coach the other team.

“Both the Stallions and Falcons have emerged as competitive teams early this season and a great deal of credit goes to both teams’ coaching staffs,” said CPJHL president Stephane Laveault. “Sylvain and Norm are two individuals who played in the NHL and have given instant credibility to our league and I can’t wait to see how we match up against the WSHL in less than two months’ time.”

The showcase event is scheduled for Dec. 19-22.

The Stallions are off to a 7-1-1 start to lead the CPJHL West Division, while the Falcons are 4-6-0, good for third place in the CPJHL East Division.

Both the CPJHL and WSHL are members of the AAU-sanctioned United Hockey Union.
