The defending President's Cup champion Essa Stallions have re-signed goaltender Yamato Ogawa for the 2018-19 CPJHL season.

In 10 starts last season with the Stallions, the Nikko, Japan, native posted a 9-1-0 record with a .928 save percentage and a 1.92 goals-against average.

"Yama is a quality individual and goaltender, of which we are very lucky to have back for another year," said Essa head coach and director of hockey development Sylvain Cloutier. "We're very lucky to have solid goaltenders who push one another day in and day out to compete for playing time. Hopefully, Yama comes into camp ready to work, and takes that step forward to being our No. 1 goaltender."

"Yams is a good kid, tracks the puck well, and will do whatever he can to stop that puck," added Stallions assistant coach and GM David Lang. "We're looking forward to having him back in the black and white."
