Passionate Settlers GM Steve Besharah passes away suddenly, will be 'missed by so many'

by Matt Mackinder

From the Smiths Falls Settlers:

It is with great sadness and heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of our Smiths Falls Settlers GM Steve Besharah.

Steve guided our club for three years and we are shocked to hear of this devastating news. His smile and personality lit up our team and he was part of our Settlers family. We couldn't thank you enough for the countless hours and effort you put into and our organization.

Steve's family would also like to put a statement out to all friends and associates of his hockey world........

"We want to thank everyone in the hockey community for all the joy you brought our father over the years. He loved being a part of the hockey world and sharing this passion with all of you.  All the messages we have received the last few days have been very much appreciated.  We have found comfort in hearing about all the memories he shared with his hockey family. We thank you all very much for the kindness and care you showed our father over the years. His love for hockey was not just about the game but all the people he met along the way.

"He will be truly missed by so many.  Thank you all for the support over the last few days."

Jodi, Aimee, Jennifer and Stevie

We offer our sincere condolences to Steve's loved ones during this difficult time.
