Seaforth signs Michigan native Michelini to patrol Generals' blue line for '18-19 season

The Seaforth Generals have announced the signing of defensemen Matt Michelini for the 2018-19 CPJHL season.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound native of Chesterfield, Mich., is entering his last year of junior eligibility and is looking to develop and push himself to the next level.

“Matt is a tremendous d-man that adds to an already great d-core," said Seaforth GM TJ Runhart. "He models his game after Mike Green from the Red Wings and I have to agree with him on that. He can jump up into the play and be an offensive threat, but he knows he has to take care of our zone first."

Last season, Michelini recorded six goals and 33 assists for 39 points in 41 games with the London Lakers of the GMHL.

Before spending two seasons with the Lakers, Michelini played for L’Anse Creuse High School in his home state.
