Royals sign Montreal native, Somang Academy grad Beliveau for offense, leadership roles

The Langton Royals have announced the signing of 19-year-old forward Tobby Beliveau for the 2019-20 CPJHL season.

A Montreal native, Beliveau played hockey at Somang Hockey Academy last season in the U20 program.

"We are very pleased to have Tobby with us for our first season," said Langton coach-GM Jason Do Paco. "We have heard great things about his leadership ability and his work ethic. Tobby played in the Somang Hockey Academy U20 program which is fantastic, so we know he will be used to the bigger bodies. Somang has a great program over there for players from all over the world as young as 9 or 10, I believe. We are very happy to be working alongside Somang."

Beliveau is ready to get the season going.

"I joined the Royals because they  had a great package deal," Beliveau said. "There are a lot of games, eight showcase games, and you can even make a showcase that you play in Las Vegas. This is against really good teams and in front of scouts all the way up to the NHL were there last year watching guys. Plus, we will practice a lot in Langton and work out. There will be video break down of games for the team and individually, and the exposure package and contacts to the next level are great. I hope to earn a spot with IFK ORE in the future. My ultimate goal is to play in Europe so I saw this as the best option for me.

"I hope to bring a strong work ethic, determination and leadership to the team. I know this is the formula for success. I would like to thank Somang Hockey Academy for the development and the connection with the Royals."
