Le Becard's Riviere, Mustangs' Brooks, Generals' Barbo garner first monthly awards for '19-20 season

The Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League has announced its first Players of the Month for the 2019-20 season for the combined months of September and October.


Jordan Rivière, Le Becard de Senneterre

Riviere tallied 17 goals and 35 points over 10 games for Le Becard, a 3.5 points per game average. 

A 2001 birth year, Riviere posted at least one point in all 10 games, including a seven-point game (three goals, four assists) on Sept. 28 against the Ferme-Neuve Le Buffalo and a six-point performance (three goals, three asissts) the next night, also against Ferme-Neuve. Riviere also recorded two four-point games and a pair of three-point performamces. 

He currently leads the CPJHL in scoring.


Jeremy Brooks, Maniwaki Mustangs

The top defenseman scorer in the CPJHL, Brooks registered five goals and 14 assists for 19 points in 10 games for Maniwaki.

In 12 games last season, the 2000-born native of Bromont, QC, native tallied 20 points in 12 games.

Over September and October of the current season, Brooks posted two three-point games and added a one-goal, three-assist outing on Oct. 26 against the Ferme-Neuve Le Buffalo.

Brooks has gone pointless in just two of his 10 games this season.


Raul Barbo, Seaforth Generals

Barbo has led the Generals from the blue paint, going 6-1-0 with a 2.10 GAA, .931 save percentage and one shutout (Oct. 6 vs. the Muskoka Anglers).

A 2000 birth year from Spain, Barbo has allowed just 14 goals this season.

Statistically, Barbo is tied for the league lead in wins and sits third in GAA and save percentage.
