The Langton Royals have added another Somang Academy player, signing 19-year-old forward Maxime Cousineau for the 2020-21 CPJHL season.

"I am very excited about all the Somang guys that come in, as well as any player that becomes a Royal," Langton coach-GM Jason Do Paco said. "I'm really excited about Maxime as he will provide a lot of speed and ability. I'm eager to work with his abilities and feel he will be a big part of our lineup all season.

"We have a solid core coming back. And having a good group of players coming in that already know each other this should only help build on what we were able to accomplish last season. I am happy with how the recruiting season has been going. I am excited to get Maxime and everyone else in September."

A native of Mascouche, PQ, Cousineau said he has heard only positive things about the Royals program.

"The program has a good-framed development system which allows players to develop faster," Cousineau said. "The staff is top-end and are right there when we have questions or need help with something."

Cousineau has realistic goals in mind for the upcoming season and into the future as well.

"My first goal is to give the best that I could give in all training exercises and games to help my team succeed," he said. "Personally, I don't have a specific goal in my hockey career but I try to learn from my mistakes every game and practice to get better day by day. I am a smaller player that plays physical and I use my speed to open up ice to use my vision.

"I hope to bring a lot of success to the team this year."
