The Grey Highlands Hawks have announced the return of defenseman Stanislas Lebegue for the 2018-19 CPJHL season.

The France native began his hockey career nearly 15 years ago with the Courbevoie Hockey program. During the 2014-15 season, Lebegue played for the Anglet U18 School program as a 15 year old. Two years later, he was playing for Courbevoie in the France4 men’s league, which is the fourth-highest league in France.

This proved to be a great experience for Lebeque as he was playing against players twice his age.

In 2016, Lebegue's dreams of playing in Canada finally came true as he was signed by the Meaford Knights of the GMHL. In less than two months with the Knights, Lebegue decided to move one town over and join the Hawks in the CPJHL, where he played the remainder of the season.

“Playing in Canada has always been my dream,” said Lebegue. “I am so proud to play another season with the Hawks and give my very best to the team so we can win a championship”.

According to the Hawks, "Stan showed significant improvement since joining the Hawks. As one of five returning players, he will be relied upon for some leadership and to help the new Hawks players adjust to a new team and town."
