Essa, Coldwater announce trade involving veteran Davis

The Essa Stallions and Coldwater Ice Wolves have announced a trade.

The Stallions have agreed to trade forward-defenseman Josh Davis to the Ice Wolves for cash considerations.

Davis, who is a local to Coldwater, will have the chance to finish out his junior hockey career playing at home in front of friends and family.

"We thank Josh and his family for everything we have been through these last few years," said Essa head coach and director of hockey operations Sylvain Cloutier. "He deserves the right to play and will be a help to them (Coldwater) up front or on the back end. We wish him nothing but the best, and hope he has a good season."

"I know things didn't work out the way he (Davis) had hoped for here in Essa, but he's going to a division rival of ours, who will be tough to play against, especially in their rink," added Stallions GM and assistant coach David Lang. "He will help them be better. The whole organization wish Josh the best of luck, and look forward to catching up with him down the road."
