The Essa Stallions have announced the signing of Swedish forward Daniel Spannar for the 2018-19 CPJHL season.

Spannar, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound winger, comes to the Stallions after a couple of years in the Swedish J20 Elit division with Sollentuna HC J20.

"Daniel is a very skillful player with good speed and hockey sense," said Essa head coach and director of hockey operations Sylvain Cloutier. "It will be an adjustment here for him with the style difference, but we find that once he gets settled, he will excel."

"Being familiar with some of our current Swedish players will certainly allow Daniel to get acclimated with the style of play and the league as a whole," added Stallions GM and assistant coach David Lang. "We expect him to be a point producer here with us, so we're excited to add him to the likes of Holmstrom and Wahlstrom up front."

in 61 career games in the J20 Elit, Spannar has amassed 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points.
