CPJHL announces addition of Shawville Express, will be third team in Quebec for '18-19

The Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League today announced the addition of the Shawville Express franchise for the 2018-19 season.

Shawville is a town of less than 2,000 residents in western Quebec.

"With the Maniwaki Mustangs and Universel College Unik already in Quebec and in our East Division, Shawville will help to strengthen the East," said CPJHL president Stephane Laveault. "We are excited to add Shawville for the upcoming season and can't wait to see what the franchise brings to our growing league."

Shawville is the hometown of former NHL coaches Bryan Murray and Terry Murray, as well as their nephew, former Buffalo Sabres GM Tim Murray.

NHL legend Frank "The Shawville Express" Finnigan and former NHL referee Blaine Angus also hail from the Shawville area.

The 2018-19 CPJHL regular season schedule is scheduled to be released in the coming days.
