After year away, Stewart back with Stallions to provide more depth up front

The Essa Stallions have announced the re-signing of forward Parker Stewart on the eve of the 2018-19 CPJHL season.

Essa heads to Quebec this weekend to take on the tough Maniwaki Mustangs in a two-game series.

Stewart, a 1999 birth year from Halifax, N.S., suited up for the Stallions during the 2016-17 season, amassing 47 points (16 goals, 31 assists) in 42 games.

"Getting 'Stewey' back is a huge help for us," said Essa head coach and director of hockey operations Sylvain Cloutier. "We're a very deep team and with the addition of him, we just got a lot deeper. His familiarity with some of the boys and the systems we run will allow him to catch up after coming later than the others. We're looking forward to having him back in black."

"I've heard good things about Parker," added Stallions assistant coach and GM David Lang. "He has the capability of being a good player for us. We are looking to get him in the best situation for success and present him the opportunity like the rest of our players. He comes and works hard, is engaged, and does what we ask of him. He's going to have a great season."
