WSHL WESTERN STATES SHOOTOUT ROUNDUP: Team CPJHL shows off talent, goes 2-2 at Vegas event

Team CPJHL took part in the WSHL Western States Shootout last week in Las Vegas, going 2-2 in four games at the Las Vegas Ice Center against WSHL competition.

Away from the rink, the players and staff bonded and took in the local tourist sites in Nevada.

TUESDAY, DEC. 17

Team CPJHL 6, Barrhead Bombers 2

Ethan Scrimgeour (Seaforth Generals) went for two goals and two assists, Felix Mailhot (Langton Royals) also scored twice, and Dylan Henri (Smiths Falls Settlers) and Jack Dorey (Langton Royals) added single goals in the showcase-opening win. David Barrett (Severn Stallions) finished with 31 saves in goal.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 18

Bellingham Blazers 4, Team CPJHL 3

Scrimgeour scored twice, Dorey the other, and Owen Haiek (Seaforth Generals) assisted on all three goals for Team CPJHL. In goal, Raul Barbo (Seaforth) finished with 22 saves.

THURSDAY, DEC. 19

Team CPJHL 3, Valencia Flyers 2

Haiek, Juliusz Kowalski (Langton Royals) and Justyn Clark (Langton) scored and Barrett stopped 20 shots in the win.

FRIDAY, DEC. 20

San Diego Sabers 5, Team CPJHL 0

Barbo made 22 saves in goal for Team CPJHL.

The CPJHL is now off for the holidays, returning to action Jan. 4-5 with a four-game weekend slate.
