WEEKEND ROUNDUP: Mini showcase in Quebec highlights season-high 11-game weekend

A total of 11 CPJHL games were played this past weekend, including four as part of a mini league showcase in Quebec at the Centre Sportif Ben Leduc.

Here are the highlights and details from each game:

FRIDAY, JAN. 31

Maniwaki Mustangs 12, Le Buffalo de Ferme Neuve 6 (showcase)

Yannick Brindamour exploded for two goals and seven assists, Phillippe Beaudoin added three goals and two assists and Anthony Bedard compiled four goals and one assist. Jarrett Barbara and Niels Colliot each had a goal and assist, Aleks Stoilov scored once and Jeremy Brooks registered three assists. In goal, Logan Hensley made 19 saves. 

For Le Buffalo, Steven Junior Flamand recorded three goals and an assist, John-Evan Moar tallied a goal and three assists, Gabriel Ottawa-Dube had a goal and an assist and Simon Huot added a single goal. Louis-Francis Venne kicked out 41 shots between the pipes.

Le Becard de Senneterre 7, Smiths Falls Settlers 2 (showcase)

Vincent Roy tallied four goals and an assist, Jessy Dalibert had a goal and two assists, Jeremy Boivin posted a goal and an assist, and Cedric Chantal scored one. Steven Gagnon added two helpers and goalie Antoine Chouinard made 12 saves. 

Dylan Henri and Seth Stevens scored for the Settlers and Jonatan Horne stopped 32 shots in goal.

Le Becard de Senneterre 7, Maniwaki Mustangs 4 (showcase)

Alexandre Beaulieu popped four goals and a helper, Jeremy Boivin notched two goals and Etienne Demers also scored. Steven Gagnon, Andy Mapachee and Vincent Roy each tacked on three assists and Antoine Chouinard stopped 25 shots between the pipes.

Jeremy Pontbriand scored twice with an assist for Maniwaki, while Anthony Bedard and Yannick Brindamour had a goal and an assist. Phillippe Beaudoin chipped in two assists and goalie Logan Hensley made 36 saves.

Smiths Falls Settlers 9, Le Buffalo de Ferme Neuve 1 (showcase)

For Smiths Falls, Dylan Henri had two goals and an assist, Felix Leonard and Craig Ratt-Thusky scored two each, Seth Stevens went for a goal and an assist and Chris Pryer and Shane Nottaway recorded one goal apiece. Simon Swallow added two helpers and Jonatan Horne fashioned a 12-save performance in goal.

Jake Ratt scored for Ferme Neuve and Nicolas Robert took the loss in goal.

Scarborough Wexford Raiders 6, Langton Royals 5

From the Scarborough Gardens, Riley Rogers and Jarra Shifara posted a goal and two assists for the Raiders, Kevin Shirmaly, Davis Park and Josh Bishop had a goal and an assist, and Justin Saab-Brault added a goal. In net, Lanny Korbee made 65 saves.

Langton's Felix Mailhot scored two goals, Carson Favel had a goal and an assist, and Dawson Leblanc-Peltier and Colin Spence scored one each. Ismael Prudent added a pair of assists and goalie Ryan Price-Letson stopped 55 shots.

Severn Stallions 7, Muskoka Anglers 2

At the Graeme Murray Arena, seven different players scored for the Stallions. Jared Weatherbee, Christopher Champagne, Caleb Boylan, Jake Grinnell and Scott Knowles each posted a goal and an assist, while Carson Latimer and Austin Gilmore also scored. Liam Coleman and Jacob Ljungstrom rang up two assists apiece and David Barrett turned aside 42 shots in goal.

For Muskoka, Marten Poldmets had a goal and an assist, Kayden Shepherd also scored, and Turham Ramsey made 55 saves between the pipes.

Maniwaki Mustangs 18, Le Buffalo de Ferme Neuve 1

From the Centre Gino-Odjick, Anthony Bedard had three goals and five assists, Phillippe Beaudoin posted four goals and two assists, Jeremy Brooks added a goal and five assists, and Zachary Beaudoin registered three goals and three assists. Yannick Brindamour went for two goals and four assists, Temuri Vedyapin tallied three goals and two assists, Jeremy Pontbriand added a goal and two assists and Aleks Stoilov chipped in a goal and an assist. In goal, Logan Hensley stopped 26 shots.

Dylan Beauchamp scored for Le Buffalo and goaltenders Nicolas Robert and Zak Flamand combined to make 46 saves.

SATURDAY, FEB. 1

Smiths Falls Settlers 12, Le Buffalo de Ferme Neuve 3

The Settlers won big at the Smiths Falls Youth Arena, getting five goals and three assists from Askar Kagirov, two goals and a helper from Andraz Homan, plus two goals each Connor Hewitt and Carter Burns. Chris Pryer had a goal and an assist, while Dawson DeGray, Dylan Henri, Keegan Jorgensen and Blake McArthur tacked on two assists apiece. Settlers goalie Jonatan Horne made 32 saves.

For Le Buffalo, Dominic Mills Bruno, Riley Botham and Dylan Beauchamp scored and Nicolas Robert finished with 42 saves in net.

Le Becard de Senneterre 11, Maniwaki Mustangs 2

From the Centre Sportif Ben Leduc, Benoit Cousineau-Marcoux and Mirko Bolduc each had two goals and an assist for Le Becard. Vincent Roy and Maxime Lemaire added a goals and two assists each, Jordan Riviere scored twice, Zachary Filion went for a goal and an assist and Andy Mapachee compiled two assists. Steven Gagnon and Cedric Chantal scored one each and goaltender Gianni Schiappa-Godard kicked away 15 shots in goal.

Aleks Stoilov scored both goals for Maniwaki and Logan Hensley made 54 saves between the pipes.

Seaforth Generals 4, Severn Stallions 0

From the Coldwater Community Center, Raul Barbo made 50 saves in goal for the shutout. Benjamin Dunn scored twice with an assist, Dylan Ross-Kendi went for a goal and an assist, Cedrick Beck scored once, and Owen Haiek chipped in with two assists. 

Severn goalie Ayden Walter finished with 66 stops between the pipes.

SUNDAY, FEB. 2

Langton Royals 4, Seaforth Generals 1

At the Seaforth Community Centre, Felix Mailhot and Malcom Gamelin each had two goals and an assist while Juliusz Kowalski added two helpers of his own. In goal, Trevor Slaven finished with 32 saves. 

Cedric Beck notched Seaforth's goal and Raul Barbo turned aside 38 shots in net.
