WEEKEND ROUNDUP: 2019-20 regular season wraps up as Seaforth, Le Becard each win two games

The Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League wrapped up the 2019-20 regular season with six games over the weekend.

Here are the highlights from each game:

SATURDAY, FEB. 29

Seaforth Generals 9, Le Becard de Senneterre 3

From the Seaforth Community Centre, Owen Haiek went for a goal and five assists, while Ethan Scrimgeour added two goals and two assists and Cedric Beck tallied two goals and an assist. Donald Kuptana and Austin MacDonald contributed a goal and two assists each, Benjamin Dunn tacked on a goal and an assist and Travis Sloan chipped in three helpers. Jared Searles also scored and Raul Barbo finished with 28 saves in goal. 

For Senneterre, Vincent Roy scored two goals, Jordan Riviere added the other, and Alec Boutin had two assists. In net, Gianna Schiappa-Godard and Antoine Chouinard combined to stop 42 shots.

Maniwaki Mustangs 10, Smiths Falls Settlers 4

At the Smiths Falls Memorial Community Centre, Anthony Bedard scored four goals and added two assists, Yannick Brindamour posted a goal and five assists, Paul Fuchs added a goal and three assists and Gabriel Briere tacked on a goal and a pair of helpers. Samuel Constantineau, Samuel Huard-Beauchamp and Temuri Vedyapin scored one each, Remi Veilleux picked up two assists, and goalie Cedrick Robidoux made 13 saves in goal. 

Dylan Henri scored twice for the Settlers, while Askar Kagirov added a goal and two assists and Xavier Beaudoin also scored. Andraz Homan had two assists and Jonatan Horne finished with 54 saves between the pipes.

Langton Royals 6, Severn Stallions 3

From the Coldwater Community Centre, Jack Dorey led the Langton offense with two goals and an assist, Malcom Gamelin added a goal and two helpers and Joshua Bozek scored twice. Ismael Prudent notched the other goal and Ryan Price-Letson made 26 stops in net.

For the Stallions, Scott Knowles and Austin Gilmore had a goal and an assist apiece, Jacob Smith scored the other goal, and goaltenders David Barrett and Brendan Keeler combined on a 50-save effort.

SUNDAY, MARCH 1

Le Becard de Senneterre 3, Langton Royals 2 (OT)

At the Langton Arena, Jordan Riviere's goal with 2:52 to play in overtime won it for Le Becard. Alexandre Beaulieu and Cedric Chantal also scored and Steven Gagnon put up two assists. In goal, Antoine Chouinard fashioned a 30-save performance.

Harley Werminsky and Carson Favel scored for Langton and Trevor Slaven made 29 saves between the pipes.

Maniwaki Mustangs 14, Smiths Falls Settlers 6

From the Centre-Gino Odjick, Jeremy Pontbriand exploded for six goals and an assist, while Yannick Brindamour added six assists and Philippe Beaudoin had a goal and four helpers. Gabriel Briere chipped in five assists, Antoine Bertrand recorded a hat trick and Anthony Bedard added a goal and two assists. Zachary Beaudoin had two goals plus an assist and Jeremy Brooks also scored. Goaltender Cedrick Robidoux turned aside 23 shots in goal.

For Smiths Falls, Andraz Homan went for two goals and an assist, Craig Ratt-Thusky had a goal and an assist and Askar Kagirov, Marcus Decoursay and Xavier Beaudoin scored one each. In the crease, Jonatan Horne stopped 40 shots.

Seaforth Generals 7, Langton Royals 1

At the Seaforth Community Centre, Benjamin Dunn had two goals and an assist, Storm Norskye two goals, Donald Kuptana three assists and Jeff Fritzley a goal and two assists. Cedric Beck went for a goal and an assist, Owen Haiek added a pair of helpers and Siinasi Tasse-Dion also scored. Max Hetman kicked out 20 shots in the blue paint.

Ismael Pruent tallied Langton's goal and Ryan Price-Letson made 39 saves in goal.
