Mustangs' Pontbriand, Generals' Tasse-Dion, Royals' Slaven tabbed CPJHL award winners for December

The Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League has announced its Players of the Month for the month of December.

FORWARD OF THE MONTH

Jeremy Pontbriand, Maniwaki Mustangs

Pontbriand tallied nine goals and 12 points over two games for the Mustangs last month.

A South Roxton, QC, native, Pontbriand had a monster seven-goal, two-assist game on Dec. 7 on the road against Le Buffalo de Ferme Neuve.

The 2001 birth year is currently third in the CPJHL scoring race with 36 goals and 28 assists for 64 points.

DEFENSEMAN OF THE MONTH

Siinasi Tasse-Dion, Seaforth Generals

In December, Polhill registered three assists in two games for the Generals, includind a two-assist game at home Dec. 8 against the Scarborough Wexford Raiders.

The Kuujjuaq, QC, native and 2001 birth year has eight goals and 21 points on the season.

GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH

Trevor Slaven, Langton Royals

During the month of December, Slaven went 2-0-0, with a 3.00 GAA and a .938 save percentage.

A 2001-born product from Mississauga, Ont., Slaven is 8-3-0 this year with a 3.62 GAA, a .906 save percentage and two shutouts.
