Langton signs three new players, adds more talent in trades with Muskoka, Smiths Falls

The Langton Royals have been busy tweaking their roster over the past couple weeks.

First, the club announced the signings of Nicholas Papineau, Dawson Leblanc-Peltier and Dominic Mills-Bruno.

"I am excited about these guys coming in," said Langton coach-GM Jason Do Paco. "I am hoping they add the added depth we need for a great second half of the season."

The Royals then made three trades to shore up their roster.

Langton first dealt 20-year-old forward Alexis Gagne to the Muskoka Anglers for defenseman Connor Arndt.

"This was a good deal for everyone involved," said Do Paco. "Alexis works hard and will help Muskoka and will see more ice time. Connor provides us with a younger player eager to learn and get better to the team moving forward into Years 2 and 3."

Do Paco then struck a deal with the Smith Falls Settlers, sending 15-year-old forward Drayden Sylvester to the Settlers in return for goalie Ryan Price-Letson.

"I am hoping Ryan comes in here with the same attitude our other two goalies have, which is to get better everyday," said Do Paco. "I am looking for him to push both our guys and earn his games as I expect from all of our players and goalies."

The final trade saw the Royals acquire Smiths Falls captain Malcom Gamelin (pictured) for defenseman Levi Noltcho and forward Jayden Robillard.

"We needed a goal scorer - just a guy who can put the puck in the net," Do Paco said. "We are pretty well-rounded and I think not by the lack of effort of trying to score, but we needed someone who could find the back of the net day in day out."
