Holmstrom, Brown, Golden collect first CPJHL player awards of '18-19 season

The Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League today announced its Forward, Defenseman and Goaltender of the Month awards for the combined months of September and October.

FORWARD OF THE MONTH
Tim Holmstrom, Essa Stallions

Holmstrom averaged better than three points per game in totaling 45 points (26 goals, 19 assists) in 14 games. He had eight multi-point games, including a nine-point game (two goals, seven assists) on Oct. 20 versus the Scarborough Wexford Raiders, a seven-point game and two six-point performances.

A native of Stockholm, Sweden, the 1999-born Holmstrom leads the Stallions and the CPJHL in scoring heading into November and also leads the league with five power-play goals.

DEFENSEMAN OF THE MONTH
Adam Brown, Muskoka Anglers

In 12 games covering September and October, Brown registered nine goals and two assists for 11 points with the Anglers, good for second in CPJHL defensemen scoring.

The 2002 birth year has also compiled three game-winning goals and one short-handed goal.

GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH
Ty Golden, Coldwater Ice Wolves

Golden has fashioned a perfect 2-0 mark to start the season, including a 1.50 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage.

He made 31 saves in defeating the Seaforth Generals on Sept. 30 and then finished with 21 stops Oct. 13 against the Smiths Falls Settlers.

The 2003 birth year leads the CPJHL in save percentage and his GAA is second.
